What are the responsibilities and job description for the Optometric Assistant position at Birch Run Eyecare Associates?
We are looking for a long term employee to join our practice.
Qualified candidates should have a professional appearance and demeanor, friendly personality, dependability, punctuality, clear and pleasant communication skills (preferred customer service experience and computer skills), knowledge of eye care not required but preferred, and a willingness to learn all departments in our office.
Some Job duties may include, but not limited to the following:
- Escorts patients to exam room and assists in preparing the patient for the Optometrist.
- Records and maintains accurate clinical data. Prepares chart with updated information for appropriate provider documentation in a timely manner.
- Schedules patients for testing procedures ordered by the Optometrist for tests and referrals to outside agencies/providers. Provides follow up work for all referrals.
- Provides limited patient education as directed by the Optometrist or Optical Coordinator.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
