What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resort Grounds Person position at Birch Trail Resort?
Birch Trail Resort – Grounds Person Duties Outline.
This position is part time, subcontractor.
Two days per week, approximately four hours each day.
Worker would need reliable transportation and can commit to a set work schedule each week and available if a guest request might come up with a days’ notice. The worker would need outside work clothes, work boots, at times rubber boots for working along the lakeshore, work gloves and the ability to lift 50 pounds, bend, twist and perform physical tasks without constraint.
The grounds person is responsible for maintaining the beautiful resort and lake grounds for guests to enjoy. Such as the lakefront, skimming the lake, raking and re-setting the beach chairs, raking the volleyball court, emptying large cabin trash barrels and washing out with a hose, keeping dumpsters sprayed down and clean, weed eating around full resort grounds, hand pulling overgrown grass and weeds in flower beds, at times mowing the approx. 3 acres of grass, restocking wood at fire pit locations, cleaning Lund boats and pontoons getting them ready for rent. Refueling boats, inspecting the dock throughout the shift to make sure all boats have fenders on the dock tied side of the boat and that all boats are securely tied to the dock. Peddle boats , kayak’s, paddleboards, canoe, clean and free from any water accumulation inside vessel.
Resort grounds are free from branches and sticks, rocks, bark, trash.
Dock is clean and is free from any items laying in the way for guests to walk the dock.
This position starts with a training pay of $15.00 per hour and can increase to $20.00 per hour with increased efficiency and excellence.
