A Lead Receptionist!
As the Lead Reception, you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional service during events while also supporting the planning and execution processes. Your responsibilities will include promoting events, sending weekly and event emails, answering the main phone, creating restaurant menus, managing the wedding/club social media account(s). This position requires a blend of service skills, creativity, and attention to detail to help create memorable experiences for our members and guests. Maintain a friendly and approachable demeanor, fostering a welcoming atmosphere.
Salary
Competitive hourly wage - depending on experience
Job Type
During season - Monday – Friday 8am – 4pm
In the off-season - Hours are reduced to typically three shifts along with small banquet events

Lead Reception Duties
- Operate telephone switchboard to answer, screen phone calls, providing information and taking messages.
- Inspect all banquet areas for housekeeping and maintenance issues and take action prior to member contact.
- Creating BEO weekly packets and understand the aspects of all events.
- Promoting events
- Greet members and guests entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit and direct or escort them to specific destination.
- Anticipate guests’ needs and respond promptly to requests.
- Record dining & special event reservation
- Coordinate general maintenance requests/concerns
- Ensure lamps in Clubhouse are on and all décor seems to be in place.
- Ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization.
- Take to-go orders.
- Tidy and maintain the reception area.
- Preform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
- Train all new receptionists
- Assign tasks to trained receptionists
- Maintain communication with the Executive Chef/Restaurant Manager for the feature menus and any menus being listed on marketing promotion
- Create event promotional flyers, event room signs, and food cards/menus to inform members/guests of event offerings.
- Understand all aspects of the BEO and be able to know the information without looking at the BEO.

Education Requirements
Minimum of 2 years of experience with social media, email marketing, graphic design
Birchwood Farms Golf & Country Club is a private member owned association with approximately 800 members. We are located in beautiful Harbor Springs, a Northern Michigan treasure on the shore of Lake Michigan.
