Bird and Johnson Oral Surgery in Cocoa, Florida, is seeking a skilled and committed Patient Coordinator to join our team and assist us in delivering exceptional care to our patients. Our core belief is to exceed the standard by providing excellence in oral surgery care and patient service.
The ideal candidate for the Patient Coordinator position will have insurance experience within a Dental or Oral Surgery office setting and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as a communication specialist to our patients and our referring offices.
- Greet patients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner.
- Promptly answer phone calls with a friendly and helpful demeanor.
- Discern the patient's needs and schedule them for procedures accordingly.
- Responsible for transfer of the patient at checkout; process patient and insurance payments.
- File primary insurance for patients and follow up on status.
- Oversee Accounts Receivable and monthly billing.
- Offer financing possibilities to patients and communicate their options.
- Manage patients who take blood thinners and are scheduled for surgery. Verify that instructions from the primary care doctor were received and notify the patients with details prior to their procedure.
- Appropriate filing of medical records.
- Work collaboratively with the Patient Coordinator and the clinical team. Be team-oriented.
- 1 years of Medical and/or Dental billing experience is required.
- 1 years of experience in an Oral Surgery office is preferred.
- Experience with electronic records is preferred.
- Experience using computers for a variety of tasks.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organization.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
