What are the responsibilities and job description for the Estimator for Commercial Roofing position at Bird & Bear Services?
Phoenix Roofing is seeking a full-time experienced Estimator to join our team. Estimator predicts the expense of future projects in the commercial roofing field to aid the bid process. In addition to monetary costs, estimator must consider the duration, scope, and potential profitability of a new project.
Estimator salary range: $70,000 to $110,000 - Depending on experience.

Responsibilities Include:
Oversee and manage all aspects of the construction process from planning through completion of the project.
Responsible for communicating to all levels of the organization regarding project tasks, schedules, deadlines, etc.
Resolve issues as they emerge, pull in stakeholders for decision making as needed.
Conduct onsite inspections of project sites.
Monitor and report on operational activities, staff and budget projections.
Know and understand the scope of every project and communicate the same to field personnel prior to starting each job.
Comply with the terms and conditions of the Local 37 Collective Bargaining Agreement.
Make every reasonable effort to earn customer satisfaction.
Determine and communicate project safety measures to field personnel before each project.
Visit each site prior to mobilization to verify that all preceding work by others is complete.
Run an efficient operation and minimize trips to the distributors.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of roofing construction operations and business acumen.
Associate degree or trade school required. Bachelor’s degree in engineering or construction management preferred. Demonstrated related experience may substitute for preferred education.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in the roofing industry is required.
A minimum of 5 years' experience in a management role is required.
OSHA 10 certification is required. OSHA 30 Certification preferred.
A valid driver’s license is required.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite including Outlook and Excel.
Ability to read take-offs and estimates.
Understanding of Loss Control guidelines, OSHA and Company safety standards.
Knowledge and understanding of the terms and conditions of the Local 37 CBA.
Ability to handle the complexities of the multi-company arrangement.
Ability to communicate and maintain good working relationships with peers, customers, and other contractors.
