Position Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing complex financial and accounting tasks to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial status. This role involves managing month-end and year-end closing processes, performing account reconciliations, preparing detailed financial analysis, and assisting with audits and tax filings. The senior accountant will work closely with the finance team to support day-to-day operations and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Financial Recordkeeping
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Prepare accurate and timely journal entries for transactions.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulations.
Accountant Reconciliations
- Perform complex account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.
Budgeting & Forecasting
- Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
- Monitor actual performance against budget, identifying and reporting variances.
Audit and Tax Support
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Implement audit recommendations and assist with the resolution of audit findings.
- Support third party firm in preparing and filing tax returns
Process Improvement
- Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting workflows.
- Support the implementation of new financial systems or tools to enhance efficiency.
Other Duties
- Assist with special accounting projects or ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
- Provide general support to the finance team and other departments as needed.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
- Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
- Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
- Ability to work with peers in a team effort
- Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in alignment with departmental and industry demands
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Experience in general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
- Experience with complex account reconciliations and audit support.
- Previous experience in a senior accounting or similar role is highly preferred.
Preferred Skill/Abilities:
- Prior experience in Retail, Mail Order of Specialty Pharmacy, PBM, pharmaceutical or managed health care industry preferred.

- Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.

Salary : $70,400 - $88,500
