Position Summary:

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing complex financial and accounting tasks to ensure the accurate and timely reporting of the company’s financial status. This role involves managing month-end and year-end closing processes, performing account reconciliations, preparing detailed financial analysis, and assisting with audits and tax filings. The senior accountant will work closely with the finance team to support day-to-day operations and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization. Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

Financial Recordkeeping

  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts, including balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Prepare accurate and timely journal entries for transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulations.

Accountant Reconciliations

  • Perform complex account reconciliations for balance sheet and income statement accounts, ensuring all discrepancies are identified and resolved promptly.

Budgeting & Forecasting

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Monitor actual performance against budget, identifying and reporting variances.

Audit and Tax Support

  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
  • Implement audit recommendations and assist with the resolution of audit findings.
  • Support third party firm in preparing and filing tax returns

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements in accounting workflows.
  • Support the implementation of new financial systems or tools to enhance efficiency.

Other Duties

  • Assist with special accounting projects or ad-hoc financial analysis as required.
  • Provide general support to the finance team and other departments as needed.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, accounting principles, and financial reporting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc.).
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar ERP systems).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to relate to people at all levels of an organization and possesses excellent communication skills
  • Sound technical skills, analytical ability, good judgment, and strong operational focus
  • Ability to work with peers in a team effort
  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays in alignment with departmental and industry demands

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in an accounting or finance role.
  • Experience in general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reporting.
  • Experience with complex account reconciliations and audit support.
  • Previous experience in a senior accounting or similar role is highly preferred.

Preferred Skill/Abilities:

  • Prior experience in Retail, Mail Order of Specialty Pharmacy, PBM, pharmaceutical or managed health care industry preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Typical office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues.
  • Home-based office environment, with minimal exposure to excessive noise or adverse environmental issues,
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time.

Salary : $70,400 - $88,500
