Job Overview:
We are looking for a Fabrication Technician with 3 years of experience in installation, maintenance, and support of advanced security systems. This mid-level role combines technical expertise in physical security systems with hands-on fabrication and customer support. You will work with video management and access control supporting clients primarily in the aviation and transportation sectors and requires proficiency in the fabrication of device components for Intelligent Door Controller (IDC) enclosures. Comprehensive training and product certification will be provided, including the CCURE Installer Certification.
Key Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals for system installations and repairs.
- Fabricate and assemble device components and IDC enclosures to meet technical specifications.
- Perform installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of IDC to meet specifications.
- Conduct diagnostic evaluations of IDC once fully assembled to meet specifications.
- Maintain accurate records of parts used and test result.
Requirements:
- 3 years of experience in installation, maintenance, or technical support for physical security systems.
- 2 years of industry experience with Software House, Lenel, Genetec, etc.
- Proficiency in fabricating components and working with tools and materials for enclosures.
- Proficiency in using a multimeter to measure voltages & resistance for troubleshooting.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for customer interaction and reporting.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with infrastructure wiring of Access Control & Video Management System.
- Experience with field installation of security devices and panels.
- Experience working with security components such as cable requirements, card readers, door contacts, request to exit, electrified locking hardware, resistors, & etc.
- Experience with IP cameras and networking.
- Relevant certifications in access control, CCTV, or IDS systems (e.g., Software House, Lenel, Avigilon, Milestone, & etc.).
- Hands-on experience with electrified locking hardware installation and troubleshooting.
Additional Requirements:
- Willingness to travel to in-state and out-of-state job sites.
- Ability to work independently with assigned task with minimal supervision.
- Ability to meet governmental badging requirements.
- Valid driver’s license.
