Position Summary:
Birdi Systems, Inc. is seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Technician / Foreman to lead electrical and low voltage system installations. This role is responsible for overseeing conduit installation, wire pulling, and the integration of low voltage systems. The ideal candidate has extensive hands-on experience, a leadership mindset, and the ability to manage field teams while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and up to industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and oversee electrical and low voltage installation crews on projects.
- Plan and execute conduit runs (EMT, RMC, PVC, etc.) and structured wire pulling for both power and low voltage systems.
- Install, test, and troubleshoot low voltage solutions, including:
- Access control & security systems
- Fire alarm systems
- Surveillance (CCTV) & intercoms
- Data & structured cabling (Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics)
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, local codes, and industry standards.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of electrical and low voltage systems.
- Perform quality control inspections and oversee system testing and certification.
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including daily logs, testing reports, and material tracking.
- Train and mentor junior technicians and apprentices, ensuring best practices and safety protocols are followed.
- Order and manage materials, tools, and equipment for job site efficiency.
- Uphold Birdi Systems, Inc.’s commitment to excellence, safety, and customer satisfaction.
- 8 years of experience in electrical construction, with a focus on low voltage systems.
- 3 years in a leadership role (foreman, superintendent, or senior technician).
- Strong expertise in conduit bending, installation, and wire pulling techniques.
- Hands-on experience with low voltage installations and troubleshooting.
- Knowledge of NEC, NFPA, and industry best practices.
- Familiarity with low voltage testing and certification tools.
- Valid Journeyman or Master Electrician License (preferred, as required by location).
- Certifications in low voltage systems (NICET, BICSI, manufacturer-specific, etc.) are a plus.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites.
- Electrical & low voltage work in aviation, transportation, and critical infrastructure projects.
- Experience with integrated security, access control, and fire alarm solutions.
- Knowledge of building management systems (BMS) and automation.
- Familiarity with field reporting software and project management tools.
