Overview

The AP/AR Supervisor will oversee the accounts payable and accounts receivable teams for multiple entities within Birdsong Hearing Benefits.  This role will report to the Controller of Finance with strong collaboration with the AVP of Finance.  This collaboration extends to the President of Birdsong and its affiliates along with the functional leaders on all financial transactions, maintaining oversight, and the development of processes, procedures, and reporting activities. The AP/AR Supervisor will support operational financial activities and ensure management has the necessary information to make key operational and business decisions.   Additionally, the AP/AR Supervisor will ensure the integrity of all financial data by adhering to U.S. GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and will also prepare accurate monthly financial reports and assist in creating presentations as needed.  Finally, this role will have a staff in which oversight, coaching, leading and development will be core to the role in terms of ensuring the right competencies and work is being produced with accuracy and quality.

Responsibilities

- Supervising the work of the accounts payable and accounts receivable staff within multiple entities and assisting in the daily tasks as needed, reviewing, reconciling work, auditing, and providing daily feedback and development staff, driving accountability for work. - Review staff work for accuracy, providing ongoing training, feedback and coaching, and providing final approvals of routine work. - Monitor financial performance by measuring and analysing results, initiating corrective actions, and minimizing the impact of variances. - Advising the Controller of issues and make recommendations. - Identify and understand business challenges; propose and create solutions, bring forth recommendations to enhance processes and work with Controller to provide reporting to President and functional leaders. - Work on corporate projects and initiatives as assigned. - Analyse and interpret financial data and be a subject matter expert to provide additional insights to business units regarding controls and accounts. Create and present financial data that provides insightful analysis, identifying required action items, and effectively framing decisions to be made. - Assist with all financial audits by providing requested information.

Qualifications

- Demonstration of key accounting competencies with 5 years of experience in accounting supervision in the healthcare industry. Preferred knowledge and experience in supplemental benefits, such as hearing, vision, and dental. - Strong analytical, critical thinking skills and sharp attention to detail. - Ability to work with senior leadership, manage confidentiality, and maintain composure in a professional manner. - Strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence. Previous supervisory skills leading a team of 2 in previous roles. - Consistently demonstrate professional verbal and written communication, interpersonal and organizational skills. - Sound financial business acumen with attention to strong controls, auditing experience, and reconciliation. - Ability to work with and communicate effectively with executive team members. - Proficient with the following systems required: Microsoft Dynamics, Sage, QuickBooks, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat. - Be in the office several days a week (hybrid), as required.  This role works out of the Jacksonville office but may be asked to work at home and/or be remote at times. You will need the following when working from home: - Reliable and secure Internet Service Provider at home (no public WiFi) for duration of working hours - Sufficient room to set up a laptop, monitors, keyboard and mouse - Comfortable space to work for duration of working hours - Quiet, private and secure space in which to work   #Birdsong #LI-JB1 #LI-ON
