Server Overview

Server job summary If you are a student or prospective student who needs to money, we’re looking for a motivated Server to join our team. We operate an upscale Athletic Club in Bloomfield Hills and we need wait staff with prior serving experience to provide excellent, timely service to our patrons. Our servers work short shifts (typically 5 hours), which allows you to schedule your shifts around school/studying obligations. In return, we ask you to arrive on time, always smile for our customers, and respond to guest inquiries in a timely manner. To excel in this position, you need a high level of customer service skill and a willingness to meet guests’ needs quickly and politely.

Bartender Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes and customer preferences.
• Engage with guests to provide outstanding service, ensuring their needs are met promptly and courteously.
• Upsell drinks and menu items to enhance the guest experience and increase sales.
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the bar area, including equipment, glassware, and utensils.
• Monitor inventory levels of bar supplies and communicate needs for reordering to management.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including responsible alcohol service practices.
• Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure seamless service during busy periods.

Server Responsibilities

• Know what events are going on at the club that day and be able to relay it to guests/members if need be.
• Well-groomed and dressed neatly to reflect positively on the BAC. Examples: pressed uniforms, combed hair and great personal hygiene.
• Clearing tables after the departure of our guest/members and taking dirty dishware to the designated areas (with busser help).
• Promptly clean tables, chairs, and resetting the tables for the next service (with busser help).
• Perform daily side prep and closing side work.
• Usage of fine dining skills, such as proper wine service.
• Knowledge about wine/spirits and alcohol.
• Knowing the menu front to back and being able to relay options/items to members.
• Pay attention to detail, such as placing orders exactly to customers specifications.
• Keeping up with what the kitchen has in-house and help with updating “86 board.”
• Able to communicate with the kitchen/expo with any special prepping such as allergies or any other needs.
• Presenting bill to each guest/member also ensuring each bill is billed correctly.

Requirements

• Strong guest relations skills with the ability to create a welcoming atmosphere.
• Proven experience in upselling products effectively to enhance customer satisfaction.
• Excellent sales abilities with a focus on maximizing revenue through beverage offerings.
• Exceptional guest services skills, ensuring every patron feels valued and appreciated.
• Familiarity with POS systems for efficient order processing and payment handling.
• Knowledge of sanitation practices within the food industry to maintain a safe environment.
