JOB DESCRIPTION : To facilitate student comprehension and application of concepts skills and behaviors that contribute to the development of mature, able, and responsible members of society.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Demonstrate support for the school system and its vision, goals, and priorities.
- Provide a rigorous curriculum that aligns with the Alabama Department of Education (ALSDE) and Career & Technical Education (CTE) Course of Study.
- Sponsors a Career Technical Education Student Organization (CTSO) and participates in at least one program-related competition per year.
- Adheres to school system rules, administrative procedures, local board policies, and state and federal rules and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, parents, school and agency counselors, and related service providers in the overall educational plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the individual education service and transition plan for students enrolled in the education setting.
- Engages in professional growth & demonstrate professional ethics & leadership.
- Use current technology for instruction and management purposes.
- Ability to compile and analyze data, and interpret the laws, policies, and regulations pertaining to the work.
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS :
Bachelor's Degree or higher from an accredited college or university; valid Alabama Teacher's Certificate in the career technical subject area assigned. Must meet Every Student Succeed Act (ESSA) federal and state requirements or a willingness to meet the requirements within the designated timeframe.
Note : Employment experience gained in the private employment sector may be considered when filling specified positions, which are not traditionally in the education field, but include specialized training or certifications.
