JOB DESCRIPTION :
The Itinerant Speech Language Pathologist will provide services to support the instructional program at a variety of schools within the District.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
- Identify students with communication disabilities.
- Plan and implement appropriate treatment to minimize adverse impact on student success.
- Recommend treatment plans and provide direction to school staff.
- Create a speech / language program and classroom environment favorable to learning and personal growth.
- Establish effective rapport with students.
- Motivate students to develop skills, attitudes, and knowledge needed to provide a good educational foundation.
- Utilize technology to motivate students and prepare students for 21st
- Participate in school-related activities that enhance teacher, student, parent, and community relations.
- Analyze different data sources in making data-driven decisions for instruction.
- Establish a positive relationship with students, parents, co-workers, volunteers, and other visitors.
- Evaluate students to determine eligibility for services under Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
- Use current technology for instruction and management purposes.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
