What are the responsibilities and job description for the PAINTER position at Birmingham City Schools?
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ready to begin work at 7:00 a.m. or the appointed hour
- Performs any and all assignments related to normal duties of a Journeyman Plaster – Painter
- Fills out required forms and orders materials and tools necessary to perform the assignments
- Supervises and instructs employees who are assigned to assist him
- Fills out necessary reports to properly document all materials and labor expanded on each job
- Must have the ability to Finish Sheet Rock
- Works in whatever capacity needed to make the schools and other Board property safe for students and Board Employees
- Adheres to all Board of Education regulations
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Must have completed a three – year apprenticeship
- Must have at least two years of experience in Commercial Painting
- Must be experienced in the safe and proper operation and maintenance of all tools and equipment used in the plaster/painter trade
- Must have a valid Alabama Driver's License
- Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position
