Reports to: Maintenance Manager
Compensation: $32/hr.-$38/hr. depending on experience.
Summary
An industrial electrician is tasked with ensuring the proper functioning of electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. This includes installing new electrical systems, troubleshooting and repairing existing systems, and performing preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.
Essential Functions/Duties
- Installation: Install, repair, and maintain electrical components, systems, and equipment in accordance with local and national electrical codes.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings to determine the layout and installation of wiring, equipment, and fixtures.
- Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair electrical problems in industrial machinery and equipment, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes.
- Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety standards and protocols to ensure a safe working environment. Identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on electrical systems to ensure their longevity and prevent potential breakdowns.
- Equipment Calibration: Calibrate and maintain industrial equipment to ensure accurate and efficient operation.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other maintenance and operations personnel to coordinate electrical work in conjunction with other maintenance activities.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of electrical installations, repairs, and maintenance activities. Document any changes made to electrical systems.
- Upgrades and Modifications: Participate in upgrading or modifying electrical systems to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance.
- Emergency Response: Respond to emergency calls for electrical repairs and provide prompt solutions to minimize production downtime.

Physical/Cognitive Demands
This is largely a physically active role including walking long distances (over uneven surfaces) to/within our production facility, lifting 50lbs or more, and standing for long periods. Position also requires bending, stooping, squatting or standing as necessary. Cognitive abilities required include deductive reasoning, information ordering, oral comprehension, oral expression, problem sensitivity, written comprehension, and written expression.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Hours are Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- 480-Power Knowledge and PIC Knowledge
Preferred Education and Experience
- 2 years’ experience in a similar position.
- Bilingual English/Spanish language skills is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Good communication skills are essential.
