Position Overview:
The Merchandise Manager will oversee all aspects of the club’s merchandise program — from inventory management and vendor coordination to online store operations and gameday sales. This is a critical role that blends creative product development with retail execution to help drive revenue and strengthen the Legion FC brand.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations of the team’s retail program, including:
- E-commerce store (ShopLegionFC.com)
- In-stadium retail locations on matchdays
- Mobile and pop-up shops at community events
- E-commerce store (ShopLegionFC.com)
- Manage inventory, ordering, and vendor relationships to ensure timely delivery and restocking of products
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams on product design and seasonal releases
- Analyze sales data to guide purchasing decisions and pricing strategy
- Train and manage gameday merchandise staff and volunteers
- Ensure a high level of customer service and fan experience across all retail touchpoints
- Track and report merchandise performance, including revenue, margins, and inventory turnover
- Maintain a clean, organized, and visually appealing shopping environment in-store and online
- Work closely with finance and operations to reconcile sales and manage budgets
Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience in retail, merchandise management, or e-commerce (sports industry experience a plus)
- Strong organizational and inventory management skills
- Familiarity with POS systems, online store platforms (e.g., Shopify), and Excel/Google Sheets
- Creative eye for product design and fan trends
- Excellent communication and vendor relationship skills
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings, and matchdays
- Passion for soccer and commitment to growing the Legion FC brand
