Head Football Coach
Bishop Dunne Catholic School provides a model college preparatory Catholic education with technology integration in a diverse school environment. We are seeking a Head Football Coach who can effectively communicate the vision and mission of Bishop Dunne Catholic School’s football program. The ideal candidate will be an experienced head football coach, a positive role model and an effective communicator.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university and a valid Texas teaching certificate for grades 7-12.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of previous coaching experience at a secondary or higher level
- Strong interpersonal communications skills and solid technology skills for use in instructional and professional tasks
- Technical knowledge of the game of football
- Strong administrative, organizational, and motivational skills
- Knowledge of TAPPS, DPL, and NCAA rules
- Familiarity with National Federation of State High School Associations NFHS
- Demonstrated record of working collaboratively with administration
- Demonstrated record of providing positive leadership
- Uphold and promotes the Catholic mission of Bishop Dunne Catholic School
- Valid driver’s license required
General Responsibilities:
- The Head Football Coach is responsible for all facets of conducting a competitive football program
- Football coach sees himself as part of a team of school staff who work together to advance the mission of Bishop Dunne Catholic School
- Directs and coordinates the planning, organizing, and coaching of Bishop Dunne Catholic school’s football program
- Provides leadership and instruction in the personal and athletic development of our student-athletes
- On the field coaching during practice and competition; practice and game day preparation
- Coordinates with the CFO the preparation of the budget
- Supervises and evaluates assistant coaches and staff
- Promotes Falcon football in the public
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all TAPPS, DPL and NCAA rules and regulations
- Develop, organize camps and clinics
- In conjunction with the advancement director, implements fundraising initiatives
- Analyzes game film and develops strategies to win in competition.
Essential Functions:
· Administer all facets of the football program
- On-the-field coaching during practice and competition
- Supervision and management of assistant coaches and staff
- Under the guidance of the director of athletics, administration of football operating budget
- Formulating and implementation of pre- and post-season conditioning programs
- Monitor the academic success of our student-athletes
- Represent Bishop Dunne Catholic School in the public and at school events
- Have a clear commitment to a tradition of athletics and academic success for Bishop Dunne student-athletes
- Head Football coach actively engages student athletes in volunteer activities within the community that reflects BDCS Catholic identity
- Football coach has the ability to communicate with a wide range of audiences: students, parents, coaches, faculty, alumni, and administrators
