FT Cosmetologist

Our Community Life Services team at Bishop Gadsden, James Island, is seeking a ten (10) hours a week Esthetician to join our team! Bishop Gadsden offers full benefits, hourly rate plus commission, and provides all products, and tools to best serve our residents. This team member will provide complete and quality skincare services and products to the residents and staff of the Bishop Gadsden Community.  The successful candidate will have compassion for and the desire to work with the elderly. 

Responsibilities

• Provide professional and safe skincare services including but not limited to:
• Evaluate resident skin condition and offer recommendations for treatment.
• Wax and/or pluck unwanted hair.
• Provide facials with professional techniques.
• Clean and maintain beauty and skincare tools.
• Complete manicure and pedicure services as requested
• Maintain and schedule appointments using scheduling software in a timely manner
• Answer incoming telephone inquiries in a pleasant method using good customer service skills
• Complete weekly sales reports
• Responsible for inventory of Salon product
• Maintain work area in a clean, neat manner
• Adhere to accepted customer service standards
• Maintain work area in accordance with requirements of DHEC and licensing authorities
• Promote teamwork and cooperation among staff and with other operational departments
• Maintain sufficient knowledge of operation of the facility to give information to residents and their families, prospective residents and their families, and the general public and community
• Accept additional duties as necessary in a cooperative manner
• Maintain professional appearance and conduct exhibiting a respectful and courteous demeanor at all times
• Perform all responsibilities with adherence to Resident’s Rights and HIPAA

Qualifications

• Interpersonal skills are necessary for exchanging information as well as maintaining a courteous relationship with the residents, families, visitors and employees
• Ability to communicate and comprehend clearly and effectively both verbally and written in English
• Ability to operate computer and keyboard
• Ability to read and comprehend numbers and written material both on paper and on computer systems
• Able to stand, stoop, bend, reach, squat, climb, reach above head, carry, and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sit and stand for periods of time

Required Education and Experience

• High school education preferred
• SC Board of Cosmetology License
