GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: 

The Senior Director of Operations is a key member of the senior leadership team at Magnify and is responsible for managing the overall operations and administration of the organization. In collaboration with the Executive Director, the Senior Director of Operations develops comprehensive planning, implementation, and evaluation of the organizations goals and objectives by providing direction and supervision of the Residential Programs, Employment Services, and Life Skills Development programs ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of our services and maintaining the highest standards of organizational performance.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: (The essential functions/major responsibilities listed are intended only as illustrations of the various types of work that may be performed.   • Manage organizational risk, ensuring compliance with all regulations.
  • Provide support to the Board of Directors, including the board finance committee and Board Treasurer. Draft policies for board approval. Provide clear and accurate operational and analysis to support decision-making.
  • Oversee employee recruitment and onboarding, contractors, and volunteers. Lead and mentor the programmatic and administrative teams, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Supervises the Director of Residential Programs, Director of Employment and Life Skills Programs, Human Resources Coordinator, and contracted IT services.
  • Provide support to the Executive Director for overall operations.
  • Actively participate in senior management meetings and contribute to overall organizational strategy.
  • Stay informed of advancements and changes in the field of regulatory compliance, nonprofit finance, and programmatic operations supporting individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Supports directors of programs by providing continuous strategic direction and input, regulatory compliance, and oversight.
  • Study and evaluate data to develop trends, projections, and corrective strategies when appropriate. 
  • Oversee management and maintenance of office space, equipment, technology, inventory, and supplies.
  • Represent the organization at external events and meetings as required.
  • Engage in continuous learning and professional development relevant to the role
  • Conduct all essential functions in accordance with established policies and procedures. 

Requirements

SPECIFIC JOB SKILLS:  

  • Excellent with office and productivity software
  • Excellent time management and prioritization
  • Excellent ability to translate strategy, vision, and direction communicated synchronously (in person or over digital communications) and asynchrony (posted notices, emails, etc.) into directional feedback for others.
  • Experience teaching others, especially those with intellectual or developmental disabilities. 
  • Excellent ability to give directions synchronously and asynchronously. 
  • Excellent ability to communicate both in person and digitally or in writing. 
  • Excellent ability to work collaboratively in a team, as well as independently, and to adapt to feedback
  • Excellent ability to manage and develop relationships inside and outside the organization.
  • Excellent ability to provide feedback to others in a constructive and positive way.
  • Problem-solving skills and the ability to coach others to adapt to and overcome challenges. 
  • Passionate entrepreneurial and agile spirit, and the ability to cultivate those values in others.
  • Leadership, and the ability to provide guidance and support to others with and without direct supervisory authority, and to model excellence.
  • Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities is a plus.

CATHOLIC FAITH:Practicing Catholic is preferred. Requires an appreciation and respect for the Catholic Church and its teachings. Church employees must conduct themselves in a manner that is consistent with and supportive of the mission and purpose of the Church. Their public behavior must not violate the faith, morals or laws of the Church or the policies of the diocese.
JOB SCOPE:  Position encounters varied work situations with significant complexity, operating from both established procedures, and the development of new programs. Operates with little supervision. Provides supervision and mentorship to direct reports, and other employees and volunteers within the organization. Position maintains files containing sensitive and confidential documents.  
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:  

  • Master’s Degree in Social Sciences or a bachelor’s degree with relevant combination of education and experience.
  • 6 Years of related leadership experience in a non-profit environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand, walk, talk, feel, sit, grasp, hear, and perform repetitive motions of the hands/wrists. The working hours of this position are not limited to an 8-hour day.WORKING ENVIRONMENT: Work is performed mainly in an office setting. The physical demands and work environment characteristics described above are representative of the physical capabilities that must be met by an employee and the working conditions that an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
