Job Description: This person will be responsible for full time teaching of high school English classes. Extracurricular assistant coaching and moderating opportunities available.
Position Overview
This person is responsible for the teaching duties as assigned by the school Principal. Within their subject area at Bishop Kelley High School, teachers are responsible for overseeing effective course development, implementing successful delivery of content, as well as monitoring and evaluating student progress.
Job Requirements:
Willingness to understand and commit to the mission of Bishop Kelley High School as a Diocesan Catholic institution.
Ability to present material in a variety of formats to meet the needs of diverse learners
Ability to integrate technology in the classroom
Ability to reach for student success
Demonstrates broad knowledge of the subject matter
Prefer prior teaching experience at the high school level
Prior coaching or club moderating experience preferred
Effective communication skills
Prior to Employment: Must be cleared through the Virtus Background Check (Done by Bishop Kelley)
Supervisor: Principal and Department Chair
Salary: Compensation is based upon years of teaching experience and educational degree(s). Coaching role(s) will be compensated through a stipend. Benefits apply as a regular teacher.

Considers student attention span and learning styles when designing lesson plans
Provides for individual differences, including offering extra assistance to students when necessary
Communicates promptly and effectively with students, parents, counselors, department chairs, attendance office, administration, etc...
Communicates learning objectives clearly to students
Provides prompt and consistent feedback on assignments and test results
Uses varied techniques for communicating progress such as immediate feedback, written comments, grades/scores, probing remarks, one-to-one conferences, etc. o Updates grade book in a reasonable amount of time
Completes a minimum of 15 hours of the provided professional development hours annually
Performs other related duties as assigned
