GIRLS’ SOCCER ASSISTANT COACH for 2025-26 school year
JOB SUMMARY
Position is responsible for assisting the head coach with organizing the Girls’ Soccer program at Bishop Luers High School. Position assists with conducting practices, motivating students-athletes, and instructing student-athletes in strategies and techniques.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Assists the Head Varsity Coach with instructing the players in the rules, regulations, equipment, and techniques of the sport.
- Reports to Head Varsity Coach, Athletic Director, and Principal.
- Organizes & directs individual and small group practices activities/exercises as directed by Head Varsity Coach.
- Assesses player’s skills, monitors players during competition and practice, and keeps the Head Coach informed of the athletic performance of the athletes.
- Assists Head Varsity Coach with supervising athletes during practices and competitions.
- Follows established procedures in the event of an athlete’s injury.

Pass a background check and complete the required IHSAA state courses.
-Model sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards players, officials, and spectators
-Maintains the equipment room in an orderly condition and assumes responsibility for its security. - Distributes equipment, supplies, and uniforms to athletes as directed by the Head Varsity Coach.
- Assist the Head Varsity Coach with submitting a list of award winners at the end of the season.
- Participate in special activities to include parent’s night, banquets, award nights, and pep assemblies.
- Performs support tasks such as distributing and maintaining eligibility forms, emergency data cards, and other related records via Final Forms.
- Model nondiscriminatory practices in all activities.
- Attend staff development meetings, clinics, and other professional activities to improve coaching performance.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletic Director and Principal or other appropriate administrator.
