Principal of Bishop McVinney School

Principal Opening: Bishop McVinney Regional School, a co-educational PreK-Grade 8 school at 155 Gordon Avenue, Providence, RI, seeks a Principal to begin leading the school community on July 1, 2025. The right candidate is a disciple of Jesus Christ who can be a dynamic, caring empathetic, and faith-filled chief administrator. Ideally, he/she should be bilingual in English and Spanish. This leader is capable of leading this school with the vision of increasing enrollment and continuing the Diocesan mission of Catholic education. Bishop McVinney School is an accredited school with more than 180 students enrolled. The eligible candidate must be a practicing Roman Catholic in good standing with the Church and will have earned a graduate degree in education, school administration, theology, ministry or a related field. Demonstrated experience in a leadership position, preferable in a Catholic school or organization. He/she must be able to promote and develop and active faith community for the students, faculty and staff, provide leadership with curriculum and instruction; exercise sound administrative and personnel management and demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Strong consideration given to candidates able to fluently speak, read, write and understand Spanish. The Principal will have a passion for the mission of the Church to go and make disciples. In doing so, the Principal will support the vision and direction for Catholic education in the Diocese of Providence. The eligible candidate will be directly responsible for the day to day operations of the spiritual, educational, and extra-curricular programs of the school. He/she will work in collaboration with the school leadership team to oversee all institutional and operational programs of the school.
