Bishop Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing is actively seeking an Assistant Nurse Educator for our Skilled Nursing Facility located in Syracuse, NY.
The Assistant Nurse Educator is responsible for overseeing educational needs (staff development / improvement), employee health and orientation processes for our healthcare facility to ensure compliance and top customer service. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Assistant Educator reports to the RN Educator.
Duties Include:
- Lead staff development programs to meet NYSDOH & regulatory mandates (e.g., safety, infection control).
- Provide coaching, counseling, and assist in disciplinary processes.
- Attend workshops, review publications, and stay updated on professional knowledge.
- Document educational activities and report on progress.
- Participate in QAPI meetings and projects.
- Assist in planning and implementing staff programs with Directors of Quality and Nursing.
- Maintain records for assessments and evaluations.
- Administer TB screenings, Hep B vaccines, and Mantoux tests under the Director of Nursing's direction.
- Foster good interdepartmental relationships.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- 1 years as a Nurse Educator in Long-Term Care.
- Current NYS LPN or RN License.
- Experience in long-term care settings.
- Ability to creatively educate, coach, and communicate.
- CPR certification required (trainer certification preferred).
- Knowledge of infection control and rehabilitative nursing practices.
- High ethical standards, discretion, and confidentiality.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping skills.
