Summary of Job: Under guidance and supervision, this individual will utilize his/her knowledge and skills of electronics to preform installations, tests, troubleshoots, repairs, remove and replace aircraft instruments and avionics components and/or systems installed in various aircraft airframes using hand tools, ground support equipment, test equipment, and technical documents in accordance with manufacturers specification and Federal Aviation Administration regulations. This position opens the door for internal career advancement opportunities.
Job Requirements: • Receive daily work instructions from Lead Avionics Technician. • Assists in troubleshooting, inspecting, testing and repairing a variety of aircraft avionics or navigation and communication systems in general aviation aircraft. • Relocate, remove, and rewire of existing components, hardware, and wiring harnesses for installation on aircraft to meet manufacturing specifications, FAR’s, and industry standards. • Prepares and maintains documents related to work activities in accordance with regulations and company policies. • Enters accurate detailed maintenance records to paper work orders. • Replace defective components. • Know how to install and build wire harnesses. • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. • Other Duties as Assigned.
Skill Requirements: • Previous experience or passion for electronics strongly preferred. • Ability to read wiring schematics and drawings in preferred. • Ability to read and understand technical data. • Previous sheet metal, fabrication or related experience preferred. • Minimum 1 year of experience in aircraft wiring, avionics, and systems or equivalent preferred but not required. • 1 year of General Aviation experience in troubleshooting and repairing avionics/instrument systems preferred but not required. • Have strong organizational, problem solving and analytical skills. • Prioritization and time management skills. • Ability to work with minimal supervision. • Good communication skills and team focus. • Remain in a standing position for extended periods of time. • Move objects weighing less than 50 pounds. • Ability to work in confined spaces. • Work in a variety of weather conditions with exposure to the elements. • Must have own tools.
Additional Requirements: • Must have a valid driver’s license. • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent • Background Check. • Pre-employment drug and alcohol testing required. • FAA Safety Sensitive Random Drug Program. • Must be able to obtain TSA security clearance. • 40 hours/week. • EOE.
