This position is responsible for performing technical work related to management of trees.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Performs maintenance of trees including planting, pruning, tree removal and other maintenance utilizing a variety of forestry maintenance tools and equipment.Addresses any hazards as appropriate; informs supervisor of issues/complaints as needed.Compiles data to update the city’s tree inventory database.Performs surveys and maintains records and performs lab related work for the management of Dutch Elm disease.Maintains and services a variety of equipment.Operates power equipment, hand tools and selected machineryAssists in snow removal operations during snow events.Attends required training classes.Performs related duties.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Ability to learn and put into practice safety standards and practices associated with arboricultureSkill in the operation of applicable hand and mechanical tools and related equipment.Skill in communication, interpersonal skill as applied to interaction with co-workers, supervisor, general public, etc., sufficient to exchange or convey information and to provide and/or receive work direction.Skill in the collection of data.
