This position is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and repairs to process equipment at the city water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant or distribution and collection systems.

This position is responsible for supervising and performing maintenance and repairs to process equipment at the city water treatment plant, wastewater treatment plant or distribution and collection systems.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
- Prioritizes and plans work projects; provides technical assistance and training to work crews.• Cleans, packs and repairs pumps and other equipment.• Performs non-routine maintenance and repairs of a more complex nature; repairs pumps, motors, compressors, mixers, electrical systems and controls.• Monitors, installs, calibrates, and repairs various mechanical equipment.• Ensures compliance with safe work practices.• Assists the Supervisor in implementation of safety program including training sessions, Standard Operating Procedures, safety inspections, and Safety Data Sheets.• Provides assistance and support to other divisions and departments as assigned.• Coordinates work with contractors, utility companies, and other city departments.• Maintains parts and supplies inventory; procures equipment, parts and supplies as needed.• Responds to after-hours emergencies.• Participates on a rotating on call schedule.• Responds to and resolves customer complaints and concerns.• Processes work orders and ensure completion.• Implements preventative maintenance programs.• Monitors, installs, calibrates, and repairs various mechanical equipment.• Performs related duties.
