Bismarck High School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and experienced Assistant Softball Coach to join our athletic team for the upcoming softball season. This position will work closely with the Head Softball Coach to help develop and implement the coaching program, support the development of student-athletes, and assist in fostering a positive and competitive team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Coach in planning and executing daily practices, including skill development, drills, and team strategies.
- Provide individual instruction and feedback to players to help improve their performance and techniques.
- Support the coaching staff in organizing and coordinating team events, including games, practices, and team meetings.
- Assist in creating and maintaining a safe and inclusive team environment that encourages sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
- Help with scouting opponents and preparing strategies for upcoming games and tournaments.
- Monitor and support athletes' academic progress and ensure they meet eligibility requirements.
- Assist with team logistics, including equipment management, transportation, and communication with players and parents.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive relationship between the coaching staff, players, parents, and the community.
- Attend staff meetings and other necessary events as required by the athletic department.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience coaching or playing competitive softball at the high school, collegiate, or professional level.
- Knowledge of softball fundamentals, strategies, and current trends in the sport.
- Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and mentor student-athletes.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a coaching team.
- Commitment to the academic and athletic success of student-athletes.
- Ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude under pressure.
- First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
- A background check will be required.
Salary : $3,882 - $5,241
