Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Obtain and record patient medical histories, vital signs, and other relevant information.
- Prepare patients for examinations by explaining procedures and ensuring comfort.
- Administer medications and injections as directed by physicians.
- Perform basic life support (BLS) as needed and maintain current certification.
- Manage patient records, including coding and documentation of services provided.
- Complete prior authorizations and other relevant documentation needed to complete patient care.
- Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals to specialists when necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of examination rooms and medical equipment.
- Provide education to patients regarding health maintenance and disease prevention.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Medical Assistant from an accredited program is not required, but must have experience in place of.
- Experience in primary care with pediatric and adult population required.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and anatomy is essential.
- Familiarity with coding practices for medical billing is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with a focus on patient service excellence.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment within an outpatient setting.
- Basic life support (BLS) certification must be current or obtained upon hire.
