Position Description & Details
Bismarck State College and Bismarck Public Schools are seeking a dedicated individual to fill the role of Automotive Technology Support Specialist. In this dynamic position, you will play a vital role in providing essential lab support to the automotive technology faculty and ensuring the smooth operation of the program. This is a 9 month contract position, running from mid-August to late May, to coincide with both BSC and BPS school calendars.
- Maintaining Tool Room Inventory : Keep track of tool room parts and supplies inventory, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for faculty and students.
- Workflow Direction : Act as the lead worker, directing the workflow within the automotive technology lab. Supervise and support students, ensuring adherence to program-specific policies and procedures.
- Student Retention and Recruitment : Take an active role in student retention and recruitment efforts. Coordinate ancillary activities during non-class hours to engage students and promote a positive learning environment.
- Administrative Duties : Utilize good computer skills to manage computer invoicing and record-keeping software systems. Assist in ordering materials and supplies as needed, collaborating with program leadership.
- Customer Service : Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and provide excellent customer service. Build positive relationships with students of varying ages and backgrounds.
- Auto Mechanical Expertise : Leverage experience with auto mechanical parts and service to ensure the lab equipment is in good working condition. Coordinate repairs or replacements as necessary.
