This position has been guaranteed funding for one year, with the potential to be extended based on grant requirements and funding.

Position Description & Details
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as a key member of an NSF Engines team focused on assessing statewide needs, enhancing BSC collaboration, and determining workforce development priorities in the AgTech space.
- Lead efforts to create impactful partnerships within the AgTech ecosystem, helping to move ideas from conception to market, with a strategic emphasis on tackling food insecurity.
- Assist in creating and delivering a robust extension program aimed at strengthening the knowledge and skills of stakeholders across agriculture and government sectors.
- Work closely with the FARMS coalition and other regional partners to develop and implement initiatives that directly address food insecurity.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with all NSF grant deliverables, ensuring timely reporting, tracking outcomes, and maintaining required standards.
Key Duties:
- Represent Bismarck State College on the AgTech Knowledge Network team, fostering statewide collaboration and knowledge sharing.
- Lead the development of a cooperative workforce infrastructure focused on AgTech and entrepreneurship, with a long-term vision for growth and innovation.
- Identify and analyze statewide workforce needs in the agricultural technology sector, with a focus on skill development and training.
- Collaborate with the NSF FARMS Engines team to align state initiatives with grant deliverables and community needs.
- Facilitate Workforce Training events, ensuring they are tailored to meet the evolving needs of the AgTech industry.
- Analyze outcomes from NSF Engines team initiatives to measure success and refine strategies.
- Manage and coordinate all NSF FARMS grant-related duties at BSC, ensuring that all deliverables are met on time and within compliance.
- Understand and maintain knowledge of all grant requirements and standards from the NSF, ensuring smooth and consistent reporting and compliance.
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's or an associate's degree in an ag-related field with at least two years of experience.
- One or more years of experience in extension program development, project management, and delivery.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to build a relationship with a wide variety of stakeholders.
- Effective written and oral communication skills.
- Good computer skills and working knowledge of computer applications and programs (Outlook, Excel, Internet, etc.)
- Availability to travel to state-wide meetings.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in agricultural and biological systems engineering, agricultural systems management, agricultural education, agronomy, crop science, precision agriculture, or a closely related field.
- Experience in working effectively with university faculty, extension personnel, crop producers, landowners and managers, industry professionals, and the public.
- 3-5 years of teaching and/or training experience.
- Experience managing federal/state grants and programs.
