Position Description & Details
Are you detail-oriented, proactive, and passionate about payroll and HR processes? Join our team as a Payroll Coordinator and help support the smooth running of payroll and employee records for a vibrant campus community. In this role, you'll work closely with various departments to ensure the accurate processing of payroll, employee records, and compliance with tax rules. You'll also have the opportunity to contribute to special projects and enhance department functions.
Responsibilities & Duties :
Payroll Duties
- Onboarding & Employee Records : Manage the onboarding process for adjuncts, part-time, and student employees, ensuring all records are updated accurately in the HCM system.
- WindStar Tax Nav Software : Serve as the primary user for WindStar Tax Nav, collaborating with Student Finance and Accounting to ensure compliance for Foreign National employees, students, and contractors.
- Out-of-State Wages : Track and report out-of-state WSI wages on a per-pay period basis, preparing necessary reports for ND and other states.
- Address & Job Data Updates : Run queries for home address changes, keep records up to date, and maintain part-time and student employee address data.
- Payroll Processing : Assist with semi-monthly payroll, including timesheet review, contract payments, and communicating with supervisors. Run reports and perform data entry.
- Vendor Reconciliation & Reporting : Complete monthly vendor reconciliations and quarterly state unemployment or withholding tax reports. Assist with garnishment and child support order processing.
- PeopleSoft HCM Updates : Manage updates related to job titles, codes, department budget tables, and employee position data in PeopleSoft HCM. Create new part-time and student positions.
- HR / Payroll Communication : Provide HR and payroll-related information to employees, assist with onboarding benefited employees, and respond to inquiries.
- Backup Support : Assist with termination paperwork, leave payouts, and termination processing in HCM. Help with annual processes like W-2, 1095-C forms, and Open Enrollment.
