REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Is directly accountable and responsible to the TrainND Manager – Business Learning and Performance Consultative Sales (for Continuing Education workforce training).
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for Contiuing Education workforce training. Client based, non-credit workforce training, meetings with potential clients, prep and such other duties as are assigned by the TrainND Manager or Dean of Continuing Education.

Position Description & Details

Provides training and/or laboratory instruction and supervision for CE clients.
- Instructs industry partners/participants on customized training/open enrollment programs.
- Creates an interactive and active learning environment.
- Meets the needs of customized training on campus, on-site, and in mobile welding units.
- Creates course material and curriculum based on client needs.
- Maintains functionality of BSC Mobile welding units/utilizing units for training.
- Maintains and helps determine on-hand supply, consumables and equipment for training events and assists in ordering as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

- Occasionally – 1-33% - Reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop/kneel/crouch or crawl, or lift up to 50 pounds.
Minimum Requirements
- Appropriate associate degree or certificate or strong record of active employment in the field.
- Proficient knowledge of the following welding processes: Oxyacetylene Welding, Cutting and Brazing, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Cored Arc Welding, Plasma Cutting, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Welding Blueprints, Welding Symbols, Non-Destructive Testing and Safety/Health as related to the Welding field.
- Good computer software skills - Microsoft Office Suite-Word, Excel, etc., Outlook E-mail and Calendar, and strong Internet familiarity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Ability to work cooperatively with diverse groups.
- Ability to articulate and support the community college philosophy with a strong commitment to teaching and learning in a community college setting.
- Must be willing to travel in and out of state for client training.
Preferred Qualifications
- Appropriate AAS degree in Welding with AWS certification and 3 to 5 years nonteaching related experience.
- American Welding Society (AWS) Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) and AWS Certified Welding Educator (CWE) Credential.
- This position may have the ability to work with the credit side of the college and teach the Mechanical Maintenance class. If so, this position will be required to obtain North Dakota Board for Career and Technical Education certification (up to six years to obtain and training is provided).
