SUMMARY OF POSITION/ RESPONSIBILITIES:
The main responsibly of this position will be to work closely with our marketing team to create or coordinate marketing materials for a variety of departments. This includes design, illustration, print, and photography. The Intern must be proficient on a Mac platform and have basic knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite.
Position Description & Details
- Work closely with the graphic design specialist to create media used for internal messaging and promotions.
- Assist the Public Affairs team with setting up for events.
- Maintains organization of universal office space.
- Maintains good public relations while working with faculty, staff and customers.
- Supports innovation, creativity and ideas to improve/enhance processes, functions, etc. in the department and as a whole for the college.
- Performs other duties as required or assigned.
Minimum Requirements
- Current Bismarck State College Student, enrolled in at least 6 credits.
- Knowledge of publication design principles, graphic design principles, and working knowledge of related development tools, including but not limited to: Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and Acrobat).
- Strong visual sense, with originality and creative flair.
- Working knowledge of – Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to handle multiple projects.
- Ability to work independently and handle interruptions.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds (essential function).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work cooperatively with diverse personalities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working on design-focused projects.
- Experience working in higher education.
