Summary
The Instrumentation and Electrical (I&E) Technician will provide day-to-day troubleshooting and support for instrumentation, electrical components, communications within the Oil & Gas sector. The successful candidate will work closely with members of the facilities engineering team, vendors, contractors, and operations field staff, while ensuring adherence to policies, procedures, valves, safety, and regulatory standards.
Job Responsibilities and Essential Functions
- Safely install, configure, test, calibrate, operate, troubleshoot, maintain, and inspect instrumentation and control system equipment.
- Repairs and troubleshoots electrical, instrumentation and control equipment.
- Inspects and tests operation of instruments and systems to diagnose faults using pneumatic, electrical, and electronic testing devices and precision measuring instruments.
- Performs installation of process control instrumentation such as transmitters, controllers, analyzers, and control valves.
- Performs mechanical work associated with instrument repair and modification while having the ability to remove and install small piping and tubing.
- Tests electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
- Works with contractors and installs, examines, replaces or repairs AC / DC Motors and Drives, PLC's,
- HMI’s, 480V power, 120V control circuits, transformers, motors, starters, relays and hydraulic and pneumatic electrical controls.
- Installs, examines, replaces or repairs electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
- Fabricates, installs and / or runs conduit, 3-Phase work, motor terminations, control and instrumentation troubleshooting and panel work.
- Reads, interprets, and provides feedback on P&IDs, PFD’s, IC&E drawings, schematics, control narratives, cause and effect matrices, cable schedules, and code specifications.
- Utilize and understand the principles of operation for all meters and instruments used in applicable I&E work.
- Calibrates and replaces components and instruments according to manufacturers' specifications.
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections on instrumentation, electrical, and control equipment in oil and gas upstream facilities.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain measurement devices with the ability to make programming changes.
- Oversees and enforces complies with standards and procedures of the Bison’s Health & Safety Manual and Occupational Health & Safety Regulations.

Associate Degree / Trade Certificate or higher in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical Technology, or foreign equivalent.
3 years pf I&E experience or equivalent industry experience.

Compensation
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $31.00 - $50.00 hourly in this location. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amount listed above.

Location
This position is located Briggsdale, CO. Candidates currently residing in locations outside of daily commuting distance will be considered, however, it is the expectation that the selected individual will be available at the work location. No relocation or travel assistance will be provided by the Company for this position.
Work Environment
This position operates in an office and field environment. This entails working inside in an office space wherein employee may be provided a public work station (cubicle) or private office. From time to time, the role will require field visits where exposure to extreme weather conditions, fumes, airborne particles, vibrations, dust, electrical charges and other unforeseen exposures may be encountered.
Physical Demands
In the performance of the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is required to have visual acuity to operate a motor vehicle and view a computer terminal for prolonged periods of time. While at work sites, the employee will be expected to walk and stand. Individuals might be asked to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and / or crawl. Individuals might be required to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs. in the performance of this position.
Position Type and Working Hours
This is a full-time position. Typical work hours are from 8 : 00 a.m. to 5 : 00 p.m. Monday - Friday. Employee must be capable and willing to work overtime as required and to participate in occasional meetings, events, seminars, conferences, or other activities outside of typical work hours. Employees responsible for project operations are expected to monitor and, in some cases, respond to emails, calls, or texts outside of business hours.
Travel
Routine, even daily, travel to remote locations will be expected. Overnight stays may be required from time to time for training, seminars, or visits to other company office locations.
