Job Summary

Duties
- Respond to wildfire incidents and assist in fire suppression efforts using various firefighting techniques.
- Operate firefighting equipment and vehicles, ensuring proper maintenance and readiness.
- Conduct controlled burns under supervision to manage vegetation and reduce fire hazards.
- Perform search and rescue operations as needed during emergency situations.
- Provide first aid and basic life support to injured individuals until further medical assistance arrives.
- Maintain knowledge of fire behavior, weather patterns, and terrain to make informed decisions during firefighting operations.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and coordination during firefighting efforts.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills in CPR, first aid, heavy lifting, mechanical knowledge, and commercial driving.
Qualifications
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) as required during firefighting operations.
- Experience or knowledge of commercial driving is advantageous for operating firefighting vehicles.
- Mechanical knowledge is beneficial for maintaining equipment used in firefighting activities.
- Familiarity with assessing vital signs is a plus for providing medical assistance during emergencies.
- Strong physical fitness level is essential due to the demanding nature of the job.
- Willingness to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends, as wildfire incidents may occur at any time.
