Responsibilities
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, and negotiate various commercial contracts, including confidentiality agreements, reseller agreements, purchase orders, statements of work, amendments, and other vendor and customer contracts. This work will support both US and international clients.
- Analyze contracts and provide written legal guidance regarding contractual rights and obligations.
- Gain proficiency in navigating international environment including an understanding of international contracting issues and related practices.
- Maintain and update contract templates to ensure they reflect current legal and business requirements.
- Assist in development of playbooks and clause libraries to support efficient and consistent contract review across department.
- Manage contract reporting, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
- Monitor the contract process, tracking contracts, flagging slow-moving contracts for contracts team, and updating any necessary project reports for executive team.
- Serve as a point of contact to support Associates through the contract review and approval processes; prepare and follow-up on related correspondence.
- Track contract expirations via contracts software and follow-up with contract owners to trigger preparation for contract terminations and/or renewals as needed.
- Assist with additional legal projects, as needed across legal team.
- Conduct due diligence and engage screening for suppliers and customers, including processing of BISSELL codes of conduct and certificates of insurance and liaising with credit team.
- Ensure all due diligence documentation is complete and compliant with company standards.
- Assist in compliance reviews and audits to ensure adherence to corporate policies and regulatory requirements.
- Assist with legal holds, maintaining organization of records and communicating with impacted business team members.
- Assist in the planning and preparation of global training materials and train Associates on contracting fundamentals and how to interface with contracting review processes. Coordinate with Human Resources to create automated trainings, as needed.
- Maintain and publish all related training materials.
- Maintain, organize, draft, and publish all BISSELL contract process, policies, and procedures.
- Perform additional legal duties as assigned.

- Degree minimum: J.D. from an accredited law school and admitted to practice in the State of Michigan or at least one jurisdiction
- Experience level: Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a corporate legal environment or law firm.
