We are seeking an organized and detail-oriented Catering Kitchen Expeditor to join our catering team. As the key link between the kitchen and delivery teams, you will ensure all orders are accurately prepared, packaged, and delivered on time. Your focus:
- Order coordination: Act as the main liaison between kitchen staff and delivery drivers to ensure catering orders are prepared and dispatched accurately and on schedule.
- Quality control: Double-check all orders for accuracy, presentation, and completeness before they leave the kitchen.
- Packaging oversight: Ensure all food items are properly packaged and labeled with special instructions (e.g. dietary restrictions, allergens).
- Workflow management: Monitor the kitchen’s order preparation process, keeping the team on track with delivery timelines.
- Communication: Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, delivery personnel, and managers to address delays, changes, or special requests.
- Problem solving: Resolve any last-minute issues, such as missing items, late drivers, or packaging errors, with a proactive approach.
- Supplies: Prepare plates, utensils, and condiments for all outgoing orders. Monitor and replenish packaging supplies.
- Organization: Maintain a clean and organized expediting station, ensuring compliance with food safety standards.
- Client experience: Assist in creating a positive client experience by ensuring catering orders are delivered perfectly and on time.
Qualifications:
- Experience: Prior experience as a kitchen expeditor, catering staff member, or in a similar role is preferred.
- Organization skills: Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multi-task under pressure.
- Communication: Strong verbal communication skills for coordinating with team members and handling client needs.
- Time management: Ability to prioritize tasks and meet strict deadlines.
- Team player: Works well with kitchen staff and delivery personnel in a collaborative environment.
- Knowledge: Familiarity with food handling, packaging, and labeling processes.
- Work ethic: Reliable, punctual, and able to complete tasks efficiently.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.00 - $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
