Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a qualified Project Manager to join their Construction Management Client Service Group. In this role, you will lead a team of engineers and technicians in conducting construction inspections and documenting project activities. Responsibilities will include overseeing construction administration, quality control, dispute resolution, pre-construction services, and stakeholder communication. You will play a key leadership role, providing both technical expertise and client management. As a member of a growing team, you will also have the opportunity to mentor junior staff and manage projects for both public and private sector clients.
The Project Manager will report directly to the Director of Construction Management.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and provide direction to associates, ensuring project tasks, budgets, schedules, and deliverables are met.
- Mentor and manage associates' performance in line with project goals and company expectations.
- Oversee all project activities, including scheduling, budgeting, directing team and sub-consultant efforts, establishing quality standards, and ensuring client satisfaction.
- Report project budget variances and develop plans to address any discrepancies.
- Maintain regular communication with clients on project progress and ensure smooth communication between team members and clients.
- Ensure continuous engagement with clients, regulatory agencies, and external stakeholders.
- Present project updates to clients, stakeholders, the public, and regulatory agencies.
- Prepare project proposals, contracts, and determine budget, scope, and deliverables in collaboration with clients.
- Identify potential funding sources and manage project risks throughout the lifecycle.
- Support associate development programs and foster a positive work environment.
- Build and maintain client relationships, ensuring projects are delivered successfully and exceeding expectations.
- Actively seek out future project opportunities and identify evolving client needs.
- Attend networking events, trade shows, and technical conferences to promote business development.
- Adhere to the company’s QA/QC performance standards.
- Experience managing diverse construction projects, including vertical construction, is highly desirable.
- Perform other duties as assigned to support the organization's success.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field (preferred).
- Ability to become prequalified as a CE-2 with the Ohio Department of Transportation (a plus).
- 10 years of related experience (preferred).
- 7 years of supervisory experience (preferred).
- Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, organizational, and public speaking abilities.
- Proven experience in managing multiple types of construction projects and working in a team-oriented environment.
