Lab Technician

JOB DESCRIPTION:

This is a test technician position in an independent mechanical test lab, serving multiple Aerospace Companies. We work directly with the local aluminum plant. Flexibility with day and evening shifts Sunday through Saturday, overtime as required.

Primary Responsibilities:

The new hires will likely not possess most of the following skills but should have demonstrated ability to acquire these skills and will be trained upon hiring.

1. Interpret customer test requirements into test standards and identify required test fixtures and equipment.

2. Interact with the plant to get the required specimens, fixtures etc. machined.

3. Setup the test equipment and conduct relevant tests.

4. Organize daily workload plus analyze schedule to meet data availability and reporting deadlines.

5. Conduct continuous quality control measures to demonstrate and document data validity.

6. Input measurements and sample info into a computer system.

Required:

• Must be comfortable using computers.
• Must be comfortable using Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Basic math and mechanical skills.
• May be needed to lift heavy aluminum blocks.
• Must be motivated to learn new equipment and procedures.
• Experience in mechanical machining is a benefit but not required.
• Able to lift 50lbs.
• Withstand extended periods on feet.
• Driving company truck to customers facility to pick up or deliver materials.
• Daily cleaning tasks.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift

Work Location: In person
