Job Summary:
The Construction Superintendent will oversee and manage all aspects of drilled shaft concrete pier installation projects. This role requires extensive knowledge and experience in drilled shaft construction, including slurry drilling techniques, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Safely manage and lead a specialized team of construction laborers, operators, and subcontractors through all phases of deep foundation construction.
· Delegate work and assignments to team members based on expertise, work experience, and time constraints.
· Collaborate with project owners, engineers, and project managers to complete the project on time or ahead of schedule.
· Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with the WRH, Inc. Equipment Manager, vendors, and suppliers.
· Ensure detailed and collaborative JSA’s are completed daily by either leading the group discussion or overseeing a site Foreman’s lead.
· Maintain a detailed daily log for the job site’s operations including photos.
· Complete three (3) week look ahead each Friday.
· Create schedules for workers and subcontractors.
· Coordinate subcontractors – minimum two weeks before work onsite – identify specifically when they must perform their work. Provide specific deadlines. Be direct and assertive in communication. Document conversations via email, copying the Project Manager. Immediately notify the subcontractor and PM via email if they are not performing according to the agreed-upon schedule.
· Report time for personnel and equipment onsite.
· Make changes in operations, as necessary, to efficiently meet construction deadlines and budget.
· Plan diligently to optimize safe and efficient construction.
· Maintain a safe job site per OSHA and WRH, Inc. requirements and address any violations or deficiencies immediately.
· Attend weekly the company safety meeting via Teams.
· Attend weekly project progress meetings via Teams.
· This position is designated as a safety-sensitive role. Superintendents are expected to adhere to strict safety protocols and procedures to ensure their well-being and the safety of others. This includes, but is not limited to, the responsible handling of materials and equipment, and adhering to all workplace safety guidelines and regulations.
Required Skills/Abilities:
· 8 years of experience in drilled shaft concrete pier installation and slurry drilling techniques.
· In-depth understanding of drilled shaft construction techniques, slurry drilling methods, materials, and equipment. Experience with managing slurry properties, disposal, and recycling processes.
· Experience in analyzing geotechnical reports to develop comprehensive drilling plans that address soil conditions, groundwater levels, and other subsurface factors.
· Experience in implementing necessary changes to the drilling plan based on observed real-time field conditions to ensure project success.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a group setting.
· Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
· Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· Strong supervisory and leadership skills.
· Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
· Ability to manage and lead multiple crews of 2-5 people.
· Thorough understanding of and/or the ability to quickly learn about the project.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Procore Software, including misc. phone applications.
· Performs other related duties as assigned.

· 8 years of experience in construction management, with a focus on drilled shaft concrete pier installation and slurry drilling techniques.
