Position Brief:
We are in search of a dedicated and analytical Business Analyst with specialized knowledge in Investran, the esteemed software solution for private equity fund accounting and management. The chosen individual will serve as the critical intermediary connecting business stakeholders with IT departments, charged with the successful deployment, enhancement, and maintenance of Investran, in addition to supporting associated technologies within our organization.
Primary Duties:
- Elicit and meticulously record business demands pertaining to fund accounting, stakeholder engagement, and managing investment portfolios.
- Facilitate the accurate conversion of business requirements into detailed functional specifications and technical improvements within Investran.
- Oversee and direct the user acceptance testing (UAT) processes for system updates and new feature rollouts on Investran.
- Execute intricate data translations, checks, and alignment exercises between Investran and ancillary systems, which include, but are not limited to, data warehouses and analytical platforms.
- Craft and modify analytical dashboards and reports via Investran Query Tool (IQT) or comparable business intelligence tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Engage in proactive upkeep, configuration adjustments, and enhancement of Investran modules' functionality and performance.
- Collaborate extensively with the IT, Finance, and Operations departments to bolster process efficiency and seamless data flow.
- Resolve system anomalies and coordinate with FIS Global (the software provider of Investran) for advanced troubleshooting as required.
- Design and deliver training sessions for users, as well as develop extensive support literature and standard operating procedures.
Essential Experience and Skills:
- Minimum of 8 years in a Business Analyst capacity within the financial services sector, with a strong preference for backgrounds in private equity or fund management.
- Minimum of 2 years actively working with Investran software, including but not limited to the Front Office, Accounting, and/or CRM components.
- Proficiency in the comprehension of private equity funding models, including calls for capital contributions, distribution mechanisms, and allocation structures.
- Proficient in database architecture, SQL use, and the principles of data conversion.
- Demonstrated capability in utilizing Investran IQT or bespoke reporting methodologies.
- Proven abilities in analytical thought, problem-solving, and sophisticated communication.
Desirable Expertise:
- Background in merging Investran with various systems such as Salesforce, complex data repositories, or external web portals.
- Proficiency in application programming interfaces (APIs), data transfer utilities (ETL), and programming languages such as Python to facilitate process automation.
- Practical knowledge of Agile project management practices and associated platforms like JIRA and Confluence.
- Professional credentials such as CPA, CFA, or equivalent financial certifications are advantageous.
