Bitterroot Health is seeking candidates to fill a Pharmacist position. This position performs duties necessary for ensuring safe, proper and cost –effective usage of medicines. Hospital Pharmacists use their specialist knowledge to interpret, place and verify physician medication orders. Pharmacists are responsible for dispensing and compounding prescribed medications for patient care. They act as a drug information resource for the physicians, nurses, patients and ancillary department personnel within the hospital system.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor’s or Pharm D degree from an accredited institution; College diploma in the field of Pharmacy; Maintains annual Pharmacy educational requirements
Licensures, Certifications, Registrations: Valid Montana State Pharmacist License; College diploma in the field of Pharmacy; BLS and ACLS required (American Heart Association) –new hires must obtain ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Job Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of Pharmacy practice and procedures; medication dosing, side effects, indications, contraindications, proper administration; knowledge of rules, policies and regulations related to disbursal of medication; ability to relate and implement systems required to gather and analyze information; maintain quality, infection and safety control standards; ability to read and communicate effectively in English, and basic computer skills required.
