Bittersweet Farms is seeking Summer Program employees to work as Direct Support Professionals in Pemberville, OH to help enrich lives and make a difference while providing you with a foundational work experience.
The goal of dynamic person-centered program design is structured to provide opportunities to adolescents to actively engage in recreational and vocational skill building activities. This includes exploring personal interests with hands-on support which might consist of working in the gardens or green houses, taking care of farm animals, or creating works of art in the art studio.
Structured recreational activities will also include arts/crafts, dancing, hiking, swimming, and sports in addition to a different theme every week.
Bittersweet Farms offers a six-week long Summer Enrichment program serving adolescents with Autism ages 12-22.
Program begins: June 9th – August 8th, and applicants must be able to start training by May 6th or June 2nd for our structured orientation.

Hours: 8:00a - 2:30p
Pay: $16.50 per hour

Education:
- High school or equivalent (Required)
- Provide person-centered support which requires flexibility, creativity, and commitment
- Work in partnership with participants
- Document service delivery accurately, thoroughly and in a timely manner
- Promote communication, choice, independence, socialization, and empowerment for the participants
- Possess and uses empathy in all actions and interactions
- Effectively work in teams with co-workers and participants
- Ability to express patience in difficult situations
- Exceptional and adaptable oral communication
- Must be 18 years of age or older to apply
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Driver's License with eligibility to be insured
- Direct Support: 1 year (Preferred) but is not required. Bittersweet Farms provides paid training!
- Must be able to begin Orientation by May 6th or June 2nd
- Must have a Valid Driver License with ability to be insured
- Must hold a H.S Diploma / GED
- Driver License (Required)
