Bittersweet Farms, a world-renowned leader in serving adults and adolescents with autism located in Whitehouse, Ohio, is seeking a Maintenance Technician. This position customarily works first shift hours (8AM-4PM) however, needs may arise outside of regular hours, such as snow removal needs or maintenance emergencies, which may require working outside of typical working hours. This full time position will perform various janitorial, maintenance, and grounds keeping functions within the facilities of Bittersweet while assisting in the maintenance department as needed. This position requires a valid Driver's License and Auto Insurance.
Responsibilities Include:
- Assisting the Physical Resources Director & Maintenance Manager with any maintenance projects/paperwork and perform preventative maintenance
- Light maintenance duties will include upkeep of pool, snow removal, painting, ability to operate power tools and motorized equipment, and general building maintenance
- Janitorial responsibilities to ensure cleanliness of all areas of Bittersweet including deep-cleaning projects and sanitizing in residential homes and office buildings
- General cleaning duties will include cleaning floors, bathrooms, disinfecting, dusting, polishing, trash removal, laundry, furniture cleaning, windows, walls, doors, ceilings, kitchen area and appliances, carpets and other areas as identified
- Order and maintain janitorial supply inventory
- Make rounds throughout the shift to ensure public areas are clean and tidy
- Meet and exceed cleaning and facility standards required for yearly state Medicaid/state inspections and health department inspections
- Maintain a positive and professional attitude toward co-workers, individuals served and visitors
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Driver's license with eligibility to be insured
- Two years of experience with housekeeping/janitorial related work
- Two years of general maintenance experience
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Ability to lift objects weighing up to 80 pounds
- Ability to bend, crouch, twist, and stand for long periods of time
- Ability to walk 5 miles per day
- Actively demonstrate compute skills in regards to Microsoft Office Suite
- Operate variety of household appliances and power equipment
