Help us redefine what is possible with Autism. Bittersweet, Inc. is a non-profit organization that provides residential, vocational, and recreational services to individuals with autism in Whitehouse, Pemberville, and Lima, OH.
Bittersweet Farms is currently seeking a full-time Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse to promote high standards of healthcare in order to provide participants the necessary medical services to maintain a healthy quality of life. Located in Whitehouse, OH on a picturesque 80-acre farm, Bittersweet Farms serves individuals with autism through day program and residential services.
Responsibilities:
- Monitoring of the health status of all residents and taking the appropriate actions to address any medical concerns
- Conduct ongoing assessments as determined by patient’s condition and/or Bittersweet’s policies, procedures or protocols and reprioritizes care accordingly
- Execute plan of care that is individualized for the resident reflecting collaboration with other members of the nursing and interdisciplinary teams
- Documenting all pertinent information involving resident healthcare/services.
- Maintaining accurate medical records on each resident
- Communicating with resident families and/or guardians
- Communicating with staff members to provide consistent & quality care to residents
- Administering and monitoring of resident/participant medications, immunizations, and treatments
- Reviewing all Incident Reports and addressing any medical issues that are documented in an IR
Qualifications:
- Current BLS - CPR/AED/First Aid certification
- Valid driver’s license with eligibility to be insured
- Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities strongly preferred
- Ability to follow physician’s orders and excellent medical charting skills
- Ability to work and communicate effectively with minimal supervision in a team environment
- Current RN license from the State of Ohio
- Current LPN license from the state of Ohio
Candidates should have strong critical thinking skills, the ability to work independently, and possess a positive work ethic with patience, compassion, and flexibility required in a facility serving those with developmental disabilities. The full-time position will require 40 hours per week with every other weekend rotation and shared on-call responsibilities.
