Dispatcher

Job summary

Reporting to the Transport/Logistics Directo, the incumbent is responsible for providing quality service to customers and suppliers in the transportation of orders, raw materials and finished products, while working closely with the other departments involved to minimize related costs.

2. Main responsibilities

Customer Service:

· Respond to requests from internal and external customers for the Albany region;

Transport management:

· Coordinate transportation for liquid product orders for Albany;

· Choose the carrier based on the customer's reception capabilities and weight restrictions depending on the destination;

· Act as a liaison agent through the telephone system with customers, carriers and the transport department (receive and answer calls);

· Monitor sudden route changes or other issues and work with transportation company and customer to establish new routes for timely deliveries;

· Cultivate strong relationships with carriers/drivers and customers to reduce the stress that accompanies last-minute schedule changes;

· Ensure a constant flow of information with the transport department, the operation as well as the other departments involved;

Others :

· Must be able to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings, weekends and occasional holidays;

· Ability to work as a team in high pressure situations;

· Proactively resolve issues and suggest solutions.

Carry out any other related tasks requested by their immediate superior or required by their duties.

3. Requirements

· College diploma in transport/logistics, or equivalent;

· A minimum of 5 years' experience in transportation management;

· Good knowledge of computer systems and web navigation;

· Experience with JDE, Oracle, SAP, or equivalent;

· Knowledge of the customs system;

5. Working conditions

• 40h/week;
