What are the responsibilities and job description for the Mill Operator position at Bituminous Roadways, Inc.?

Position Summary :

Bituminous Roadways, Inc. (BR) is a growing, award-winning, and established union highway / heavy contractor looking for a Mill Operator to join our team. Our main office is located in Mendota Heights, MN. BR also has plant locations in Inver Grove Heights, Shakopee, and Columbus.

Key Responsibilities :

Reasonable accommodations can be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Must be able to operate a milling machine (Wirtgen)
Able to remove existing asphalt pavement by milling to improve the ride ability and cross slope of the pavement, to lower the finished grade adjacent to existing curb prior to resurfacing, or to completely remove existing pavement
Understand and follow specific plans to specify an average depth of cut
Operate the milling machine with a built-in automatic grade control system while controlling the transverse slope and the longitudinal profile to produce the specified results
Operate and limit the amount of dust escaping during the removal operation
Able to complete pavement removal, the operator may use alternate removal and crushing equipment in lieu of the equipment specified

Preferred Experience / Education :

Milling machine experience (Wirtgen)

Ground Controls

Valid Driver License

High school degree / GED equivalent

Other Requirements :

All candidates are required to pass a thorough Background Check, Physical and Drug Test. References will also be checked.
