Summary (Position Description): Summary: The HR Employee Relations Specialist is responsible for fostering a positive work environment by developing and maintaining the HR handbook, facilitating conflict resolution, and serving as a liaison between employees and HR management. This role ensures compliance with employment laws, administers leave policies, and provides guidance on employee relations matters. The specialist will work closely with leadership to develop HR policies and procedures that support both business objectives and employee well-being. A successful candidate will possess strong communication and problem-solving skills to effectively address workplace concerns and improve overall employee satisfaction.

Duties & Tasks.
· Develop, update, and maintain the HR handbook, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
· Act as a liaison between employees and HR management, addressing workplace concerns and facilitating effective communication.
· Provide guidance and support in conflict resolution, mediating disputes between employees and management.
· Oversee leave policies administration, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations while supporting employees through the process.
· Assist in investigating employee complaints, grievances, and policy violations, recommending appropriate corrective actions.
· Conduct training and coaching sessions for employees and managers on HR policies, workplace behavior, and conflict resolution.
· Support HR in implementing policies that promote a positive workplace culture and employee engagement.
· Keep HR records accurate and up to date, including employee handbook, compliance documents, and assist in developing and rolling out HR policies and procedures.
· Support various HR functions as directed by the HR Manager.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities):
- Employee Relations Expertise: Strong knowledge of workplace conflict resolution strategies and employment law.
- Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with employees at all levels.
- Problem-Solving: Skilled in identifying workplace issues and providing fair and consistent solutions.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to manage documentation and ensure compliance with HR policies.
- Confidentiality: Maintains discretion when handling sensitive employee matters.
- Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Requirements:
- Relative experience or a minimum of 3 years in a low-volume, high-mix manufacturing environment.
- Preferred Education/Certification: SHRM-CP, PHR, or related certification.
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years in employee relations, HR policy development, or conflict resolution.
- Preferred Experience: Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments is a plus.
- Knowledge Requirement: Strong understanding of employment laws, FMLA, ADA, and HR best practice
Work Environment:
- This job is performed in a professional office environment. It also requires time on the shop floor with machining, assembly, and material technicians. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand and walk on the shop floor\
