Janitorial Team Member

Summary (Position Description): As a Janitorial Team Member your daily tasks consist of the general upkeep of the facility and other facilities management duties as assigned.

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Status: Full time, Nonexempt

Duties & Tasks:

• Assistance with removal of wooden crates from the washing process and left over from order pickers @4080 Enterprise Way and behind the Pressure Vessel plant @ 4031 Chamblee Rd
• Removal of scrap metal to the scrap dumpsters (both buildings)
• Removal of steel turnings and milling scrap from the machine shop @ 4080 Enterprise Way and Pressure Vessel plant @ 4031 Chamblee.
• Delivery of all empty or unused wooden crates to departments which require them for re-use.
• Removal of empty 55-gal drums. (Metal and Poly)
• Evaporation of filled totes.
• Organize re-usable wooden pallets in back of the building, matching like with like, and disposing of broken pallets.
• Transport drums, paper, and paint booth filters to/from storage to assist with paint booth cleanings.
• Remove full “pure oil” and “oil/water” waste drums to the outside storage building – taking care to follow procedures for proper placement of drum and labeling for accumulation date, contents, etc. Set up of new drums for accumulation.
• Disposal of oil collection buckets in various areas of the facility from underneath oil drain tables
• Use Pre-Crusher to break down wooden crates and unusable pallets.
• Assist in cleaning up any massive spills, messes, etc. (with help from any and all parties responsible for the original mess).
• General cleanliness and organization of the outside storage building and awning @ 4031 Chamblee location.
• Cleaning of the floors with the floor cleaning machine
• General cleaning duties around the facility as requested by the supervisor or management.
• Remove full garbage containers from factory floor and dispose of contents in the proper dumpster (both buildings)
• Remove garbage from the break rooms, replace bags, and disposal in the proper dumpster (both buildings)
• Break down cardboard boxes and relocate to recycling dumpster (both buildings).

Requirements:

• Must be able to operate sit down and standup forklift.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
• Must be able to safely utilize commercial and industrial cleaning solutions.

Work Environment:

• This job is performed in a manufacturing environment and requires you to be on the production floor. This role requires the personnel to wear PPE of safety glasses and safety shoes at all times. Hearing protection is required in specific areas.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; bend; stoop; use hands; and reach with hands and arms. The employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds.
