Job Overview
We seek a dedicated and detail-oriented paralegal to join our law office and support our litigation practice. This role requires strong attention to detail, proficiency in document management systems, and strong communication skills.
Duties
- Draft and proofread pleadings, motions, and correspondence to clients, courts, and counsel;
- Conduct legal research using Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw;
- Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately filed and easily accessible;
- Calendar deadlines and scheduling appointments and hearings; and
- Scan mail and prepare mailings for service;
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a law office is required, with a focus on litigation;
- Familiarity with Oregon Rules of Civil Procedure;
- Strong skills in document management systems and familiarity with Lexis-Nexis or Westlaw;
- Excellent proofreading skills to ensure high-quality documents;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team; and
- Clear and professional written and verbal communication skills.
