Position Summary:
The Senior Residential Advisor (SRA) oversees Residential Advisors, fosters a positive and safe residential community, and ensures the maintenance and functionality of the dormitory environment. The SRA mentors staff and students, ensures policy adherence, and promotes a culture of safety, discipline, and career success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervises Residential Advisors, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance evaluations.
- Conducts regular meetings with Residential Advisors to address responsibilities, concerns, and training needs.
- Coordinates and manages RA schedules, including duty rosters and dormitory coverage.
- Conducts and reviews monthly audits of case notes, ESPs, and PCDPs.
- Performs daily maintenance of dormitory areas, including changing light bulbs and minor repairs such as washer/dryer maintenance.
- Inventories and delivers Social Development supplies to appropriate areas.
- Monitors cafeteria areas during dinner meals to ensure proper student behavior.
- Maintains grounds around dormitories and Social Development areas.
- Promotes an environment of self-discipline, mutual respect, and awareness of others among residents.
- Models, mentors, and monitors Career Success Standards (CSS).
- Oversees programs and initiatives to support residents' academic, social, and personal growth.
- Maintains an environment where students and staff feel safe and secure.
- Conducts fire and safety inspections, documenting results in log books.
- Ensures compliance with DOL guidelines, OFCCP regulations, Job Corps Bulletins, and Center policies and procedures.
- Maintains electronic logs as directed and authorized.
- Participates in PRH-mandated staff training and complies with training requirements.
- Attends staff in-service training sessions and other meetings as directed.
- Assists in dormitories as a functioning Residential Advisor upon request.
- Maintains order and discipline in assigned dormitories, addressing conflicts and concerns promptly.
- Transports students to activities, events, or appointments as assigned.
- Ensures dormitory areas are well-maintained and comply with safety practices.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience in residential life.
- Experience in student housing, residential life, or similar fields is highly desirable.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrates strong leadership and supervisory skills.
- Manages and resolves conflicts effectively.
- Proficient in basic maintenance tasks and safety practices.
- Possesses excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Salary : $26 - $29
